Fire Updates:
Nearly 10,000 firefighters continue making progress on 13 large wildfires burning in the State that combined have burned over 210,000 acres. Cooler temperatures and increased humidity overnight have aided firefighters in their efforts. While many of the evacuation orders have been lifted in Northern California, over 22,000 people remain out of their homes due to the fires. The death toll increased to 42 late yesterday after authorities located another victim of the Tubbs Fire in Sonoma County.

“Turned Corner” yesterday with fires. Cautiously optimistic and major area of Santa Rosa now safe. Sonoma evacuations lifted also. Biggest positive day since the beginning of the event.
As containment figures have increased, many of the evacuations across the fires in Northern California have been lifted. Over 40,000 people remain evacuated, but many of the evacuation orders are being reevaluated.
