20171012 Cal OES news briefing
It is the fifth day of the fire. The fire is nowhere close to being controlled.
There are supports from the State of Nevada, Washington, Idaho, Montana, New Mexico, Oregon, Arizona, North Carolina, South Carolina. Some international support has been coordinated.
64 out of 77 damaged cellular towers have been restored. However, due to some damaged fiber lines in the active fire area, many fiber lines are not being fixed or replaced. Portable cellular towers have been deployed in order to improve the coverage of cellular signals.
Trigger points have been set to the town of Calistoga, Middletown, St. Helena, and Geyserville. Trigger points are the monitoring points set on some streets. Once the fires go across those trigger points, evacuation orders will be placed.

- major fires: 21 (It is one less than yesterday. It is due to two fires being merged)

Resources have been deployed,
- 650 fire engines
- 8,000 firefighters
- 27 national guard aircrafts
- 1,600 national guards
- 640 law enforcement officers
- 300 CHP officers
There is about 4,800 population in 42 shelters. Commodities have been distributed,
- 40,000 meals
- 60,000 liters of water
- 12,000 blankets
- 100,000 N95 masks
