20171011 Cal OES news briefing
There are 22 major fires across 8 counties in California. It will be quite a number of days to subside those fires due to low humidity 8%. The fire has consumed 170,000 acres with 21 fatalities.
New evacuation orders have been delivered to parts of Calistoga this morning. An evacuation advisory has been delivered to Middletown too.
Resources have been deployed,
1. 73 helicopters
2. 30+ air tankers
3. 550 fire engines, additional 170 fire engines have been called from neighboring states
4. 8,000 firefighters
5. 700 national guards, additional 1,800 will join to help today or tomorrow
6. 330 law enforcement officers
7. 112 CHP officers
There is about 4,400 population in shelters. Commodities have been distributed,
1. 40,000 meals
2. 60,000 liters of water
3. 12,000 blankets
4. 100,000 N95 masks
